This is very disapointing and I'd remove it from the post -- it honestly created a bit of false hope for me like -- "OH, there are cool independent cities/areas all over the world with business friendly climates !?"

No, the answer is that all of the 20+ I clicked just seem to be "this city has a slightly special tax on the import of so-and-so" or, more likely, "this corporation bribed us so we labeled it's industrial park as a SEZ in order for them to pay less tax"

There, indeed, still just a few dozen SEZs across the world.
